kyss frosken - i am a princess when you are a frog

July 24, 2005

hey it is GREEN!!! he is the PRINCE!!!

KYSS FROSKEN (Kiss the Frog), the art of transformation, the National Gallery, Tullinløkka, Oslo, Norway.

the huge Frog Pavilion attracted me at the first sight and i decided to go to this exhibition without knowing whose in the show. the greenie Frog Pavilion is a massive plastic hall in the shape of a frog which contains five installations which acrossed the areas of architecture, design, art and popular culture. the left arm of the frog is connecting to the National Museum where exhibiting works within the field of fairytales, myths and fantasies. and the right arm links to the Art Hall. its main theme of the exhibition is Tullinløkka as an arena for the new National Museum. it contains documentation and models works.

without knowing it is the PRINCE, will you kiss ‘HIM’?

entering the body of the frog, i felt that the installations are like the organs of the frog and i was like a hungry worm. wanting and hunting for food. go to the gallery and see an art exhibition is like a journey of seeking. i would not know what i was seeking for but i would know it by the time when i saw it.

i am not going to criticize any of the works because i don’t know how. but i will tell you what i feel about the works i like.

Børre sætnre’s beauty’s summer dead (2005)

Børre Sæthre's beauty's summer dead (2005)

it is really a beautiful piece art of work. i could feel death, beauty, horror and fear in the meantime. i was like entering a wood, day and night, night and day. i was alone. birds were watching me, staring at me, never resting. day and night, night and day. the witch was sounding a spell, and i was listening. day and night, night and day. blood was flooding in the forest. surround it. until the end.

Yayoi Kusama's Infinity Mirrored Room (Dots Obession-oslo) (2005)

hallucination. dream. breaking. broken. the outside world. the inner world. you. me. lies. truth. truth. lies. me. you. the inner world. the outside world. broken. breaking. dream. hallucination.

Edvard Munch’s Jealousy II, The flower of Love (1896)

Edvard Munch's Jealosy II

i couldn’t look at his paintings directly…i couldn’t bear, the loneliness, the fear.

so, kiss the frog, kiss me.
